Hit by F train

A southbound F train struck a 47-year-old man at 2:30 a.m. Sun. Sept. 28 in the Second Ave. IND station at E. Houston St., police said. The victim, not otherwise identified, was taken to Bellevue in critical condition with head injuries.

Bag stolen

A Downtown Soccer League player’s bag containing a cell phone, sneakers, a basketball jersey and shorts was stolen from the Battery Park City ballfields on Sept. 21, said the Valencia player’s mother, Linda Weinstein. She warned players and parents to keep closer watch over their belongings during the game.

Harbor death

The police harbor patrol found the body of an unidentified man floating in the water near the Staten Island Whitehall Ferry Terminal shortly after midnight on Sun. Sept. 28. The medical examiner is investigating the cause of death.

Harassing phone calls

A resident of the First Precinct told police that she received anonymous anti-black messages on her answering machine on Sept 21, 23 and 24. A week later, police arrested Anthony Santulli, 54, for aggravated harassment in connection with the case.
