Pianos project takes flight
As part of a public art project, Lauren Ambrose and The Leisure Class performed at Chelsea Market on Tuesday. “Sing for Hope: Play Me, I’m Yours” will bring 60 pianos to the city’s parks and public spaces through July 5. The piano above was done by Soho artist Ruggero Vanni, who explained, “I have extended the structure of the piano into sculptural wings where swirling brushstrokes fly off in the air in the flow of music.” For piano locations,
