Hoppening book reading with gay activist at Strand
At the Strand bookstore, on Nov. 18, Jim Fouratt, left, Village activist and a fellow Yippie and founder of the Gay Liberation Front, talked with author Tony Fletcher, right, about his new book, All Hopped Up and Ready To Go: Music From the Streets of NY 1927-1977. The book paints a portrait of how mid-20th-century New Yorks art, theater, literature and political movements converged to create such unique music.
