What do you want to be when you grow up?
“Work at a puppy store.” Maria hopes to get a “white fluffy puppy” very soon.

Harrison Costello, age 8

What was the most fun thing you did this summer?
Zip-line adventure park in Catamount, N.Y.

Are you looking forward to school?
Yes, because he wants to see friends — and in the summer, “We are always going on vacation.”

Favorite subject:
Art.

Favorite teacher:
Mr. Recht.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Director and owner of a movie company he plans to call Movie Gang.

Samantha Schnupp, age 10
Lives in Gramercy
Epiphany School, fifth grade

What was the most fun thing you did this summer?
Swimming with cousins at the Tompkins Square Park pool.

Are you looking forward to school?
“Yeah,” because she will have her own locker this year and is excited to meet her new teachers.

Favorite subject:
Math, science and swimming.

Favorite teacher:
Doesn’t have one.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Detective and Olympic swimmer.

Carolina Costello, age 6 Lives in West Village St. Luke’s School, kindergarten What was the most fun thing you did this summer? Showing Mommy how she swings and boogie boarding. Are you looking forward to school? Yes. “Because I miss my friends, especially Ana.” Favorite subject: Drawing, art, painting and lunch. Favorite teacher: Miss Guernis. What do you want to be when you grow up? Face painter.	Elad Waizman, age 5 Lives in West Village P.S. 41, first grade What was the most fun thing you did this summer? White-water rafting with Mom and Dad. Also loves his new Razor scooter. Are you looking forward to school? “Yup” — because camp is over and he misses his friends. Favorite subject: Science. Favorite teacher: Miss Emily. What do you want to be when you grow up? Pilot.	Luke Bajema, age 4 Lives in East Village Neighborhood School, pre-kindergarten What was the most fun thing you did this summer? Riding his scooter, playing with toys and playing guitar. Are you looking forward to school? Yes, looking forward to playing in toy kitchen. Favorite subject: Puzzles and drawing pictures of Mount Rushmore. Favorite teacher: Laurie and Mom. What do you want to be when you grow up? Rock star.


Louis Taustine, age 8 Lives in Gramercy P.S. 40, third grade What was the most fun thing you did this summer? “Staying at the Willow Valley Hotel in Pennsylvania — they have a water park, golf and everything.” Are you looking forward to school? “So-so.” He’s looking forward to math, computers, gym and “of course, recess,” but not reading and writing. Favorite subject: Recess and physical education. Favorite teacher: Ms. Nyboe. What do you want to be when you grow up? Baseball player — shortstop.
		Jack Metzger, age 12 Lives in Chelsea Lab School, seventh grade What was the most fun thing you did this summer? Street performing in the group he and his brothers formed called Adam, Jack, Ryan. Are you looking forward to school? Yes, because seventh grade will be different and he’s looking forward to “comparing it to the experience of sixth grade.” Favorite subject: Humanities. Favorite teacher: Mrs. Quackenbush. What do you want to be when you grow up? Jack is already an actor. He appeared in the movie “The Pink Panther 2” and is about to film an episode of the soap opera “As the World Turns.”
