They unpaved a parking lot and created a paradise
At far left, in photo at left, Zabel Meshejian, a volunteer at the Sheridan Square Viewing Garden, led a tour of the garden on Sun., June 1, during the celebration of its 25th anniversary. In photo at right, Virginia Stotz, the garden’s membership chairperson, looked at a collection of photos depicting its history. One photo shows how trucks used to park on the formerly asphalt-covered triangle, while another includes then-Mayor Koch attending the garden’s groundbreaking.
