On Monday morning, July 4, Code Pink held a rally in front of Macys protesting conditions at Guantanamo and the Bush administrations war policies. Celebrities and politicians read excerpts from the play Guantanamo, which is composed of excerpts of prisoners letters from the American prison on Cuba. Among those at the event were, from left, feminist icon Gloria Steinem, City Councilmember Margarita Lopez looking up as poet and New School University poetry professor Sekou Sundiata read excerpts from the play actress Rosario Dawson and playwright Eve Ensler.
